We begin with an exploratory session discussing your thoughts about death and dying. From there we build a bespoke list together tailored to your needs and interests. For some, this could include practicing how to tell your family your wishes; for others, it could simply entail figuring out what those wishes are (or aren’t). We could explore legacy projects or memorial planning together. Other common topics include deciding what you’d like done with your body after death, exploring questions around legal protections and estate planning, how to designate people to take care of your pets, creating checklists and planning documents, exploring advance directives, what to do when your next of kin isn’t the best person to deal with your possessions or your family of origin doesn’t really get you, learning about less traditional means of body disposition — along with many other topics. Maybe you want to learn more about green burial options, or you’re curious about donating your body to science. In most cases, these are individual conversations that can be held in person or virtually. But these can also be group-based, such as a Death Salon or a Death Brunch. I am available for individual and group work.

Though thoughtful, bold, and always curious, Emma's blog is a space for those who love exploring and questioning.
